Description — This is an art exhibit near the town of Valentine in west Texas.  I photographed it in February 2010.

Camera Nerd Info — Linhof Super Technika V 4×5 view camera, Fujinon-W 180mm f/5.6 lens, Fuji Provia 100F film, exposure 1/250s @ f/11, two-stop Singh-Ray graduated density filter.

Commentary — Yes, I used a sheet of film on this.  I was driving westbound on US 90 when I passed this small building that looked like a Prada store out in the West Texas plains.  So I turned around and checked it out.  Prada Marfa is an art exhibit.  It contains real Prada shoes and handbags in the window display, but only one shoe of a pair, and the handbags have no bottoms.  The creators intend the exhibit to gradually decay naturally so there is no upkeep.  Details can be found on the Web.

Since the face of the building was in shadow, I used the graduated density filter to darken the sky a bit.  It worked okay, but I would have been more careful if the subject had been more important.
